“Teaching of Azerbaijani language and literature" is an Open Access scientific-methodical journal published 4 times in a year (March, June, September, December). Has been published since 1954. History of journal

“Teaching of Azerbaijani language and literature" is a scientific-methodical publication of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The journal founded on june 15, 1954 as a methodical supplement to the "Azerbaijan Maktabi" , has been published since 3 december, 1990 as an independent scientific-methodical supplement of the journal "Azerbaijan Maktabi" It was published under the title "Ana Sozu" and has been published since April 2, 1997 under the title "Teaching of Azerbaijani language and literature".

The journal is among the publications recommended by the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Editors-in-chief of the journal

The first chief editor of the journal was doctor of philological sciences, professor Abdulazal Damirchizada (1954-1959). In the following years, well-known scientists in the country and in the USSR: Doctor of pedagogical sciences Aghammad Abdullayev (1959-1975), Aziz Afandizada (1975-1991), Mirabbas Aslanov (1991-1994), Bahaddin Yunusov (1994-2003), Mahammad Baharli ( 2007-2019).

Currently (from 2021) the editor-in-chief of the journal is Sehran Safarov.
