The topic, goals and duties of the subject of “Stylistics and rhetoric”

ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the facts that intend to determine the teaching of the subject "Style and rhetoric", the goals and objectives of teaching the subject, the content of general competencies, professional competencies, as well as the results of the educational program and training in the subject. It comes to the kind of conclusion that, since the art of public speaking was formed as a field of science, true, clear, fluent and logical speakers have always been highly appreciated by the society. In order to possess advanced speech, in addition to complying with the requirements of lexical-grammatical norms, the speech should contain stylistically correct form too, in other words, the words and expressions should be chosen in a way that the correctness and clarity of the thought are not losing their value. It is required to have information about the lexical, grammatical meaning and etymology of every word used in both oral and written speech. In order to have a stylistically rich speech during communication, it can be considered as an obligatory need to know the norms of the literary language and the stylistic qualities of language units perfectly.
