ABSTRACT 

The object of the research is multicultural values and tolerance in the works of Mirza Shafi Vazeh. For this purpose, the author studies the poet's "Songs", "religiousfanatics", clerics who cause mischief between peoples, women's rightslessness, etc. brings issues into analysis. The poet's relationship with Bodenstedt, giving him his songs for translation and printing, Bodenstedt publishing the songs under his own name, etc. issues are addressed. The translation of "Songs" into other languages, its human character, and the attitude of Russian artists to the poet's poems are also reflected in the article. Here, the researcher examines the poet's humanism, tolerant attitude towards other peoples and their religions. The mention of the Jewish prophet Moses and the Christian prophet Jesus in "Songs" is interpreted as a manifestation of the poet's attitude towards the saints of other religions. The pedagogical activity of the poet, the difficulties he faced as a textbook author, and other issues as a problem in research attract attention. The researcher gives ample space to scientific polemics, bases his ideas and opinions on quotations.
