Psycho-Linguistic Bases of Communicative Teaching of the Grammar

ABSTRACT
The article deals with the communicative teaching of grammar and its psychological and linguistic bases. As is known, nowaday the main goal of foreign language teaching is communication. Communication without grammar is almost impossible. Communicative teaching of grammar means teaching grammar for the purpose of communication. In the article for defining the psychological and linguistic bases of grammar researches of prominent scholars such as H. H. Clark, D. Nunan, J. R. Anderson, T. Pyles and A. John are explored. The research paper states that the psychological bases of learning and mastering English grammar include perception, attention, memory, thinking, creative activity and imagination. As it is known, there are different variants of the English language. In the article, it is justified which of these options should be taught to students and the program requirements for teaching grammar are defined.
