ABSTRACT
The article is devoted to the work of Shukhrat, a prominent representative of Uzbek literature of the 20th century, the expression of the human spirit and emotional experiences in poetry, the style and expressive possibilities, genre and stylistic diversity are analyzed. Clarification of the tradition, continuity and innovative features of the artist's poetry based on comparison with other creators of his generation; reflection of folk pathos in the lyric-epic and dramatic creativity of the poet, renewal of poetic thinking, definition of the artistic functions of folklorism in his works; plot, composition, individuality of the main characters, their place in artistic thinking based on new artistic and aesthetic views; it consists in determining the criteria of artistry of a poetic image.
