ABSTRACT
The great Azerbaijani poet Mirza Alakbar Sabir was not satisfied with only studying the classical poetry of Azerbaijan and using them according to his satirical purpose, he also did not forget the classics of the Middle Eastern world. His poems, similes, translations and interpretations of Turkish and Persian classics have a special position in the history of literature. The comparisons in the article show that Sabir responded to Rajaizade's lyrical romanticism with satirical realism. While using the samples taken from Rajaizade, the poet preserved the important features and made serious changes on them.
