ABSTRACT
The subject
“Business and Academic Communication in Azerbaijani Language” has been taught
in all specialties of higher education institutions starting from the 2020–2021
academic year, providing students with basic knowledge in academic and business
communication and equipping them with relevant knowledge and skills. Academic
communication is divided into two parts: oral (lecture, report, speech) and
written (textbook, monograph, dissertation, article, etc.). Since the
scientific style of the Azerbaijani language is sufficiently developed,
specialists can establish high-level academic communication in this language.
Lectures are given in any specialty in higher education institutions, reports
are made at scientific conferences, dissertations and articles are written. In
addition, the opportunity has been gained to publish scientific articles in the
language in which they were written outside the borders of our country. The
article describes the forms of oral academic communication, their
characteristics, differences from each other, and the main requirements for
them, as well as provides information about several foreign journals (Turkey)
that accept scientific articles in the Azerbaijani language in the humanitarian
fields free of charge and are indexed in reputable international databases.
Observational, comparative, and descriptive methods were used during the
research. The research may be useful for young teachers, researchers, and
doctoral students starting their pedagogical activities in higher education
institutions.
