ABSTRACT
The article deals with the main purpose, importance and tasks of the Azerbaijani language in the modern educational process. We noted that the main goal of teaching the Azerbaijani language in general education schools is the formation of detailed speech skills in students, in the broadest sense of the word, a culture of speech. This means that every graduate must have a clear and fluent speech, be able to freely express their thoughts and ideas orally and in writing, communicate with others depending on the situation, discuss a specific problem and summarize the thoughts expressed at the right time. Best practice shows that language learning based on speech activity is the most optimal way to introduce innova-tions, and the quality of training depends on the correct organization of this work to achieve the set goals and objectives.
