Mahira Naghigizi’s Poetry in the Context of Literary Thought

ABSTRACT
The article examines part of the work of professor Mahira Nagigizi, a
valuable scholar, Honored teacher, who played an important role in modern
Azerbaijani poetry, literature, and science, and has become the object of
research. The relevance of the topic is determined by the analysis of the main
themes in the poet’s works, especially the patriotic feelings expressed in her
bayatis and poems, which have had a significant impact on the national
spirituality and science of the modern era. The scientific novelty of the
article lies in the analytical study of selected poems from the book “Salam
olsun” (“Greetings to You”) dedicated to the II Karabakh War. The study reveals
not only the author’s emotions but also how her artistic mastery is embodied in
the bayatis. Creating a general picture that encompasses the poet’s creative
world and determining the thematic scope of the bayatis constitute the main
direction of the research. The main objectives of the article are as follows:
To analyze bayatis
dedicated to the theme of the homeland based on selected examples;
To identify bayatis
that reflect the theme of Western Azerbaijan and the poet’s personal feelings
through the voice of Nazli Ana;
To examine bayatis
expressing the theme of motherhood and kinship from the perspective of their
ideological and artistic features;
· To determine the
historical development of the Karabakh theme in the poet’s works.
