The Problem of Teaching the Subject “Adjective”

ABSTRACT
The
article discusses the mastery of knowledge on the topic of
"Adjective", the methodology of teaching adjectives as the main part
of speech and its important role in speech development and the formation of
speech culture. At the same time, the advantages of adjectives as the main part
of speech, their role in the enrichment of the vocabulary of the language due
to adjectives, the formation of expressive reading and sentence building habits
in the context of lexical-grammatical means and intra-subject relations were
examined. Teaching adjectives is a door to a synonymous approach in language or
speech, a method or methodological tool, which teachers must definitely apply
in their activities. In this case, three main requirements should be paid
attention to: students should consciously approach the issue, correctly
understand the content of the rules and definitions of adjectives, firmly
remember the acquired knowledge and be able to apply what they have learned in
their oral and written speech. When it comes to the problem of teaching
adjectives, mechanical memorization of definitions and rules should be
considered unacceptable. Therefore, teaching adjectives in Azerbaijani language
teaching should be approached as a means of shaping students' speech
development and speech culture, and serious attention should be paid to this
issue starting from elementary grades.
