ABSTRACT
The article discusses the life and
creative activity of Alakbar Babazade, as well as his book “Turk dili” (grammar
and writing rules). Although he rendered significant services to the
development of linguistics, there is limited information available about his
identity and his works. Therefore, taking this shortcoming into account, I
considered it a civic duty to introduce to the public a linguist who lived and
created in the first half of the 20th century, and who left behind a
considerable number of works on linguistics. The article aims to familiarize
today’s specialists in the field with this textbook. The book consists of two
parts – the section on syntax within grammar and the section on phonetics
within linguistics. Although the textbook is composed of two main sections, the
topics related to each are presented and explained in separate paragraphs.
