The Symbolism of Liberated Territories: “Return” and “Homecoming” in the Nakhchivan Literary Environment

ABSTRACT

This study investigates the artistic embodiment of the "Return" and "Homecoming" ideas concerning the liberated territories within the context of the Nakhchivan literary environment, specifically focusing on its representation in poetic structures and artistic language. The primary goal is to reveal the symbolic language, poetic styles, and the artistic-philosophical depth of the return motif that emerged in Nakhchivan literature during the post-war period. Employing phenomenological and hermeneutic methods, the research analyzes the transformation of key symbols such as “land”, “border”, “Homeland”, and "longing for the native land" in the works of Nakhchivan poets and writers. The findings demonstrate that in the Nakhchivan literary milieu, the idea of "Return" is presented not only as a physical movement but also as a restoration of the national spirit, the triumph of historical justice, and an integral part of the poetics of Victory. This literary heritage is highly relevant for the international scientific community in terms of artistically reflecting the processes of national memory restoration and peacebuilding in the post-conflict period. The study provides a theoretical contribution to Nakhchivan literary criticism by introducing the analysis of new symbolic layers.
