ABSTRACT
The article examines the scientific-theoretical
foundations and practical significance of interdisciplinary integration in
teaching literature lessons in secondary schools. The impact of teaching
literature in connection with other – history, geography, music, fine arts and
philosophy on the formation of students' worldview, the development of
analytical and critical thinking skills is analyzed. The relevance of the
interdisciplinary approach to modern educational requirements is substantiated.
Based on the constructivist learning theory, this approach ensures that the
student does not accept knowledge ready-made, but reconstructs it on the basis
of knowledge acquired in various subjects. The difficulties arising in the
teaching process in the modern Azerbaijani school are related to both global
educational changes and the specific characteristics of the national
educational environment. These difficulties manifest themselves in pedagogical,
psychological, methodological and technological aspects. Interdisciplinary
integration in literature lessons allows students to perceive the world as a
single system, to build a bridge between artistic thought and scientific
knowledge. This approach confirms that literature in a modern school is not
only a subject, but also the main tool for shaping personality.
