ABSTRACT
As it is
known, since the literary language is a normalized language, certain rules and
norms are used in both its written and oral forms, spelling is an indispensable
tool for the purity and development of the language. Looking at the history of
our language, it becomes clear that the spelling has been changed many times
for various reasons. From this point of view, our spelling has undergone a
fundamental improvement process. At certain times, our people used Arabic, Russian
and Latin alphabets. Of course, accepted uniform and correct spelling rules not
only increase the possibilities of writing, but also stabilize it, and thus
writing and literary language develop. It should be noted that the main goal of
teaching phonetics is to ensure literate writing based on correct writing rules
and, at the same time, to achieve speech development that follows literary
pronunciation norms. Azerbaijani language teachers present to the students the
issues that are important to be taught in the teaching of spelling and
orthography through modern teaching methods, attracting their interest and
creating conditions for the conscious assimilation of the acquired knowledge.
