ABSTRACT
Comparative literary criticism is one of the main
directions of literary criticism, and aims to determine the general
regularities and relationships of the literatures of different peoples and
historical periods with different literary traditions. It is impossible to
reveal the literary relationship between them without studying the essence of
literary history, literary criticism and literary theory, which determine the
comparative directions of comparative literary criticism. The article defines
the essence and comparative directions of comparative literary criticism, and
also pays attention to the issues of studying psychologism in Azerbaijani prose
of the 1960s–1980s in comparative literary criticism. In order to analyze the
specific features of psychologism in Azerbaijani prose in more depth, it is
necessary to compare it with national and world literatures. From this point of
view, psychologism in Azerbaijani prose of the 1960s–1980s is of great
